A large family home dating from the 1930s within a historical building which formerly accommodated offices.
The major challenge we faced upon refurnishing a house with such huge rooms was to create a cosy and intimate atmosphere. The use of many fabrics and imposing furniture items transformed the grandeur of the rooms into a pleasant and familiar environment. The eye catcher in this house is the master bedroom which takes up the entire upper storey. An envy-inducing walk-in closet, a unique bed with built-in paintings and a marble platform with free-standing bath make this bedroom a fairy-tale come true.
Colours and materials
Since the house already had its own characteristic outlook, we decided to keep the colour palette neutral and elegant. One exception is the dark-blue fireplace that now forms the heart of the house.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to lend a new purpose to a place with so much character.”
